"Jovial" came from Italian from a Roman origin from Jupiter (Father Jove) who was the supreme deity among the Romans, and was in charge of laws and social order. "Jovial" is somewhat commonly used adjective still used to describe people who are jolly, optimistic, and buoyant in temperament. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jupiter_(god)
Since Jupiter is also a planet, "jovial nature" is commonly used in Astrology. Gemini is described as: "You are recognised by your cheerful disposition and your jovial nature is not easily susceptible to anger." According to a celebrity horoscope site, http://www.kozmikhoroscopes.com, people with "jovial natures" are: Julie Andrews, Arnold Schwartzenneger, the Dalai Lama, and Oprah Winfrey, and that Bill Clinton is jovial at heart. It says that Britney Spears becomes easily depressed, but prefers a jovial approach to life.
We can learn a lot from a concordance--where the term "jovial nature" is used: often in obituaries to describe someone's warm and pleasant personality. See for example:
"...renowned for his jovial nature and ever-present smile."
"...well thought of in this city, had many friends, was a man of genial, jovial nature, and was a good citizen."
"...even greater to his colleagues here who will miss his jovial nature, his friendly smile, and the. warmth of his personality."
"...can always see his bright and jovial nature shining through his photos."
"As the years progressed, his jovial nature endeared him to all, and he was eventually promoted to the post of Cellarer, in charge of the beer and wine."
"...dedicated to making the world a better place; and always fun to be around because of his jovial nature."
"...he loved life and lived it fully, his robust and jovial nature carrying over into his [musical] works."
"...had a jovial nature, and he participated well in small conversation."
So, we see that a jovial nature is fun, witty, interesting, warm-hearted, jolly, full of great humor, a great father, talkative, sociable, friendly--all in all, a great guy to be around, the kind of man we'd all like to be, the life of the party!

While I agree that personal freedom stems from evil, it is not best for communal effort. If one plans to be the single last living human being on earth, then evil should be the path for them. However, because all great accomplishments in history were achieved through the collaboration of effort, it is best to be good, good is what is best for a community, not yourself. If everyone is evil, there can be no communal gain, only personal gain.
