no that is not neglect. neglect is if the baby is sick or hurt and no one seeks medical attention needed. neglect is seeing your baby being mistreated by others and not doing anything about it. neglect is seeing your baby hungry and not taking care of him.

No.
Neglect is when a child's needs are not met. This would be ignoring the baby when he's hungry, not changing dirty diapers, leaving unattended, giving to a stranger, etc.
It is not neglect when mother and father are sitting watching the news and baby crawls to dad. Dad wants to watch the weather so he ignores the baby. This is not neglect. Mom could easily pick up if something is wrong. Otherwise, let dad play with baby when he's wound down from work.
I've found it's best when he's got a fully belly too :))) Men just aren't motherly...that's why we're here.

No it's not neglect. If the child was left wanting for something, food attention for long periods of time then it would be neglect. But, children even small children (toddlers, babies) need to spend either quite time or play time by them selves. Not that I mean leave your kids to hours. But, it's ok for a baby to keep themselves busy for a couple minutes. As long as the parents are there watching to make sure the baby is safe. How else would house work get done? Or food prepared?

i woldn't really say it was neglect more like uncertainty. most guys are very uncertain about how to pick up a baby let alone hold one. My husband can't even change a diaper. men are horrible when it comes to changing diapers I'll tell you that. My husband about threw up several times and he didn't even get the pants off the baby. haha

it depends. Is the baby spoiled or not? Is the dad always holding the baby and just need a rest for a while?if so, its not neglect.

No, if Dad picks up baby every time it cries, it will be TRAINED to cry.
Unless it's hurt, it's not neglect.
I would recommend Dad acknowledge the baby maybe talk to it & such, but picking it up is NOT necessary.
