i use spell check all of the time because it can be very helpful when you don't know when there are double letters. Sometimes it can be confusing but it will highlight the word that it thinks you need to change and then it will put the word that it thinks you should change to in the change to box. It will put other possible solutions in the suggestions box.

personally, the only reason(s) someone would not use spell check is if they are:
A) lazy
B) trying to appear "cool"
C) writing a book, and there is dialogue in which they are trying to portray a specific accent. (This is the only acceptable reason for misspelled words. The above two are incredibly useless!)

Me! And it gives me a headache when I see so many misspelled and grammatically incorrect passages on the internet. Hell, I had to add the words "looking to meet anyone who can write in coherent English" to my MySpace profile just to keep the 1337-ers at bay!

I am constantly cited for violating community guidelines because I scold people about their awful grammar and spelling.

Yes, and I too feel your pain. It just takes a second to do and the finished product gives others a good impression of you.
