Where does this sterotype come from? I'd like to hear peoples thoughts, I will withhold my thoughts on the issue till the end.

=my mother always told me this as a kid. I didn't realize it until I went into business for myself and got burnt more than once. Also married a Jew, divorced him and still years later he is out to crucify me. That is not to say they are all that way and cheap. People are either decent or not no matter what race, creed, or color. The above is based on my personal experience.

The expression "I jewed the guy down" had to start somewhere. Or how about, "I got jewed out that deal". I'm not saying it's right but again, these phrases must exist because Jews were perceived at some point in time as having to haggle price on everything.

In Europe during Medieval times, the Jewish people were badly oppressed. They were banned from holding most jobs; nor could they join the military. One of the few professions open to them was that of a money lender. People who didn't want to pay back borrowed money labelled them as greedy.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing someone must have noticed a pattern in the same way they noticed that most NBA players are black. It's probably all a big coincidence though.
