BOX JELLYFISH

If you discount man as the most dangerous animal, then the answer is most likely the Plasmodium parasite, the organism that causes malaria. Malaria causes approximately 2.7 million deaths per year-- far more than any other organism on earth now.

If you exclude single-celled organisms from your consideration, then most likely animals from the arthropod/insect kingdom have to be considered. In the US alone, about 100 deaths from bee or wasp stings are reported each year. Worldwide the total would be much higher. And if you include other stinging/biting insects in the grouping, and stretch it a bit further to include arachnids (that's spiders and scorpions), and ticks that carry diseases that can prove deadly, "animals" from the arthropod family probably kill more people than any finned, furred, or scaly critter.

Believe it or not it is dogs. That's right the domestic dog. They have no fear of humans, are highly territorial and protective of their masters. There are 30 million dogs in the US alone, more than any other large animal but less than people obviously. Bees kill about 100 people a year in the US due to an allergic reaction. Mosquitoes kill about 2 million people a year in other countries mainly. Venomous snakes kill 60,000 people a year worldwide. But where I live mosquitoes aren't very dangerous and we don't really have very many venomous snakes. I'm much more likely to be killed by a dog than any other animal where I live.

It is obviously man but excluding them. . .
mammal- African elephant(especially males in must[ready to mate] are very bad tempered and have even been know to kill rhinos.)
reptile- Komodo Dragon(although snakes are very dangerous, this lizard is also very large and powerful and its saliva is saturated with bacteria that can kill almost anything.)
fish- sharks(they can only learn by biting so do so often at the expense of the man or animal that the shark is inquiring about.)
insect- mosquito(anopheles mosquitoes are the ones that carry malaria and other such diseases like west nile)
amphibian- poison dart frogs(many different species of these and though they not particularly dangerous unless you try to handle or eat one and ingest the toxins)
