did brazil play good this summer?

They played horrible, lets list some reasons, or rather... fault some players and their former coach

1) Cafu - due to his age this should have been his last world cup, but media reports say he's interested in 2010. Is he nuts? This last cup, as captain most of the time (with exception when he handed it to Dida), he missed most passes to him and just played a horrid game overall, especially compared to when he plays with AC Milan. Was I the only one to watch him and yell "Go Home Cafu" when he was by the opponent goal and nowhere near where he should be playing at on the pitch?

2) Roberto Carlos - is this 'vagabundo' would have bothered to mark Thierry Henry during the game vs France, maybe they would have advanced

3)lets not forget probably the most sinful and slothlike performance i've ever seen in a striker - Ronaldo. Played a very sluggish game, didn't move much for the ball, sat down by the net like a primadonna. Granted yeah I'm aware of physical ailments, but his play during the game was nowhere near adequate compared to other team strikers that didn't even make that stage of play in the 2006 games (one striker in mind is Didier Drogba of Ivory Coast ).

4) Lets not forget goldenboy Ronaldinho - some games he was pretty well marked, but it seemed he didn't play with his heart in the game. Reports of him not taking his training seriously, not resting enough (i.e. all night ps2 gaming binges) also come to mind. He didn't play for Brazil as he does for Barca.

But keep in mind, it wasn't exactly their choice to jump out there to play, it was CARLOS ALBERTO PARRIERA who allowed some of the old guard (Cafu, R. Carlos etc.) to play their negligant games and not play some of the newer talent, like Robinho.

Overall: I think that Tabajara FC could have beaten the Brasil 2006 squad, and that Brasil was lucky that in the first stages.. their groupings were much weaker teams.

With Dunga (1994 Captain) now in the coaches seat, maybe things may bide better for 2010. He certainly seems more eager to try the younger talent that may play in that cup.

As a fan of Brazil, I absolutely admit that they could of done MUCH better. i thought the final game would be brazil vs. italy. then that would of been MUCH bigger than France vs. Italy, but I was wrong. Oh Whatever, I cant wait til 2010!!

Edit: Shahrzad29, I certaintly don't agree as we are still talking about the WC with France -Italy. That would have been over if it'd been Brazil, they'd talk about it down in South America but that's it.

WELL....THEY DIDN'T PLAY TO THEIR CAPABILITIES...THEY HAD LITERALLY AN ALL-STAR..TEAM..BUT THEY PLAYED AS IF THEY WERE PAYED..LIKE IN THE FINAL OF FRANCE '98.
