that's just how your body operates. It may have something to do with your age- if you're reaching menopause which you haven't elaborated and i apologise if i'm way out then this could be the cause

It means that you are a woman! Relax! The 28 day cycle is an average. Many women have cycles that are much longer or shorter than that. I would recommend that you take a Natural Family Planning course. It will teach you how our body works. The basics are really simple. Just take your temperature when you wake up in the morning. It wll rise when your ovulate and stay higher until your next period. I did a home study course with the Couple to Couple League which was excellent. You can also chart online with ferilityfriend.com.
It has also been shown that certain vitamin supplements can increase your cycle length by a few days. Try getting hold of a copy of Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition by Marilyn M Shannon (available from the Couple to Couple League), all the info is in there.
Good luck!

Having periods every 3 weeks is normal for some people, if you find yourself pregnant at any time you may not go full term. At night time your period seams to stop as you are lying down, then in the morning your period may seam to start again as gravity takes hold.

Just a thought- if your periods are light, then at night when you are horizontal the action of gravity does not pull the material down, so it doesn't seem like you're getting your period at night. I wouldn't be worried about that part of it.

Just curious... r u over 35? I started kind of the same thing around 37. I think it is pre-menopause. I am now 41 and my doctor doesn't think it is pre-menopause, but I do. Any other changes in mood??? Appetite?? My mood and appetite changed after all of that

Thank you for asking the question i was thinking of putting on here.
I am menopausal so from the opinion of others that could be my cause.
Hopefully we will both find out what is going on in our bodies from these answers.

normal 28 day cycle I think however it might be short talk to a doc about it if you are worried. Not bleeding at night is normal because you are laying horizontally, or maybe your just have a light cycle

Sounds to me like you are spotting. Which can occur when you are pregnant. If this is not normal for you go to the doctor. I would recommend you ask for bloodwork type pregnancy test. That is how I found out with my child. The urine would always come back negative until I was further along.

For me it's the same. It's not that you STOP your period-it just takes a break,it's just that-for me-when your on your period,in the day we're active.and in the night,we just may toss or turn a few times-not that active.......so I think that that's just the way our bodies work......hope this helped!!!
