pool lifeguards? Surf lifesavers? Particularly the average p/h pay in Australia (Bondi etc.) or in the US (NY)

Hey,

Lifeguard wages vary; the more skilled you are (shown in various certifications) the more you're worth to your employer.

Pool lifeguards make the lowest of "lifeguard" pays $7-8/hr.; surf guards would likely make more, maybe $9-15/hr. because open water requires additional Red Cross certifications (at least in the states).

I don't know about Australia, but I saw an advertisement for NY once. I think it said $12 hr. or so, but with a high cost of living, you're talking relative minimum wage.

lifeguards at the public pool here in my hometown make about 11 dollars an hour, but when I was working as a lifeguard for the boyscouts I was being paid a salary of less than $100 a week.

Well, the local lifeguards at the pool make minimum wage plus any merit they have earned from the time they were hired. I am sure that private lifeguards and ones at clubs make substantially more.

i asked this question before. my results varied between $5 to like $24 an hour. it really depends where you work and who you work for.
