Similies are comparisons using "like" or "as" between two things. It's been awhile since I read The Oddsey, so I couldn't give you exact lines but here are some examples, just look for similar lines from the book:

"The thief crept through the hall like a cat, moving silently from room to room." (Compares the thief to a cat using the word like)

"All those push-ups in boot camp made my bicepts hard as rock."
(Compares bicept muscles to rock using the word as)
