That depends on the person being flattering. If who they are or what they say flatters me well then I flatter them back. If not I probably let it go as polite pleasantry. And if I already am in a flattering mood, I may turn up the heat even more and try and light her fire. Like I said it depends....

I give it fairly well; but don't take it so well. I get suspicious much of the time. Why is the person flattering me? I wonder. I don't tend to believe what they say and feel at least somewhat uncomfortable and try to change the subject. Sometimes I manage a "thank you" before I change the subject.
Flattery is just so much fluff in my opinion.

I usually say something stupid to bring myself back down from cloud 9. But it seldom happens to flatter me. I try to stay humble.

I shun the spotlight. As much as I want to feel like I am on the save level as everyone else, humility kicks in as a reflex. I get shy, almost sheepish, when it happens.

well it does depend on who and where and when they do it..
first off if it is a guy, I just smile and keep walking....
and if it is an OLD female ..I also usually smile and say thank you ..usually leave..sometimes talk to them..everyone needs friends..
and now if she is of legal age and nice..I will take the time and stop and say well thank you very much, turn and talk to them....
smile
good luck

A very nice smile and a heartfelt thank you is never snobby. A brush off thank you with a quick look away is.

I wish it happened more often. I usually blush and try to draw attention away from myself thinking I probably didn't deserve the flattery.

Without wanting to flatter you or anything: how much for that top you're wearing? Would love seeing that on CC...x!
