You've been best mates for 20 years and you are asking what you should say on his wedding day? You have 20 years of information! Talk about or tell stories about the best times you had together, unforgettable moments and/or what you have learned from there. And tell this girl and everyone who knows him why he is such a great friend! Once you get talking, you won't stop and your story will be lengthy enough! Good Luck! :)

A young man was asking his boss this very question and the boss said to him, 'When you speak in public, you need to have a story which will, at the same time as being funny, has a rhyme, and is a little racey, so if you get nervous with your speach, try to slip this little poem in to the stream:
"There was a young fellow called Skinner,
Who took a young lady to dinner,
At Quarter past eight, it was hot on the plate,
At quater to ten it was in her,
not Skinner, The Dinner."

The poem has just the right ammount of everything.'

The young man thanked his boss, and went to rehearse his speech and the poem.
At the ceremony, a few days later, the very nervous young man, after a few sherbets to fortify himself, stood waveringly to deliver his speech, and after thirty seconds, resorted to the poem, and through the sherbet, this is what he said:
"There was a young fella called Tucker,
Took a young lady to Supper,
At quarter to eight,
It was hot on the plate.
At quater to nine he was up her.
Not Tucker, Some other F***er, Skinner i think his name is!!!"
So when you do your speech, rely on your wit, not the sherbit

Yes. My father was the best man. During the ceremony his zipper of the pants broke, he forgot to put the buttons on his sleeves, and his socks were beige when the suit was blue.
Hope this comforts you, and think things will be nice.
Luck in the wedding!

Befor the wedding get as many male friends as you can and give them an old key. When making your speech start by asking all her friends to return any keys they may have to the brides house. watch the faces when all the keys are returned.

Start my saying how you value his friendship and are honored to be his best man. Then go on to say how happy you are that he found his soul mate/perfect love/bride. Then say raise your glasses and a toast to the bride and groom. Keep it short and heartfelt and you can't go wrong.

"theres nothing sithy likes doing more than wan.... playing with his playstation."

had everyone rolling about.

and "now (friends name) had to ask (brides name) father for her hand in marriage, i dont know why, he already had the rest of her." lol
