You don't. if the problem is indeed fixed, and there is no reason for the light to be on, it will reset after being started and driven 3 to 5 times. If it doesn't, there is another error code. Have it scanned again.
Oh, and please ignore the people that tell you to disconnect your battery. All that does it make the computer lose it's memory so it won't run right, and make it where you have to reset the clock and the radio memory.

Like was said earlier, disconnect the negitive for about 10-15 minutes, it resets the system. The auto places aren't allowed to reset the check engine light, according to them.

It should reset itself after a while. The emmissions control system needs to get enough data to show that the problem is gone. It may take a tank or two of gas.

either in the fuse box...or under the hood you will find some fuses. they will be labled ecm...ecu or something similar to that. Pull them out for a minute then put them back in. This will reset the computer and will not interfere with the memory of your clock or radio or any other devices you have in your car. If the fuse is not in the fuse box...under the hood on the driver's side there is a box labled relays and fuses. you will find it there.
