Amistad. It was actually the Spanish that brought them over. England had banned slavery at the time. Very good movie.

I didn't see it but you might be thinking of
' Amistad '. Ironic if they're English as that's Spanish for ' Friendship. ' The English weren't the only slavers. Look at the fort building that went on where it involved stone masonry all over the new world. You'll also find those places have a black population not previously indigenous to the area.
