Hi, just starting a ballet class. I'm trying to practice a routine, which I have to have down before my next class and there's one part I can't remember. I thought, perhaps, there could be a more common way of teaching/doing this ballet move, and dancers may just know which way it should go.
It's a quick three step thing:
So, start in first position, slide to dancer's right into second, then slide left foot into fifth w/ left heel in front and one more slide to fifth w/ left heel in back. Or it could be the other way around; left heel in back, then in front. That's the question. Which order? front, back OR back, front? Anybody know this??
(through this, the right arm goes up to high fifth and circlies back, down, while the other arm goes only to second)
can you remember how you first learned this?
It would be AMAZING if someone could help. thanks!
any guesses, thoughts would be appreciated

i'm not familiar w/ this particula step but it is safe 2 say that it is nomt likely having yr let heel in the back AND then in the front. typically when doing barre work like this u always use yr outside leg (the leg NOT closest 2 the barre) first. hope this helps and good luck =)

sounds like a port de bras. If it is, then I think its safe to say you do right foot first, then left foot in front. I'm not sure though, so practice both ways so you'll be ready for anything

took me a moment to get it (i learn better visualy) but i would practice this both ways, so by your next class you can safley say you know it. and i know my past teacher and my dance teacher now, does everything like a mirror. we do a combination on one side, then we reapeat it on the other. so, just do it on both and you'll be safe, girl!
luck! and keep on dancing!
