Just open "My Computer" and check under free space.

If "Free Space" does not appear right click on the top bar it will have the following columns "Name" and "Type" at least and select "free Space" from their to have it show up.

START>>MY COMPUTER>>DRIVE C(or whereever you're keeping your files)>>(right click)PROPERTIES

You should see a pie chart in Pink and Blue to tell you the Used vs. Free space on your drive.

follow these steps:
go to my computer
double click on c: (where i assume your hard drive is)
left click with the mouse
go to properties
and you will see a very nice graph telling you how much you used and how much you still have left...
you can do this with every drive (fash drive, cd-rom, other hard drives...)
