my doctor has always said unboiled tap water, boiling it removes the fluoride which is essential for children. We did that right after birth.

When you say nursery water, do you mean bottled water with Fluoride? The only reason they advise you to use that type of water is because flouride helps retard tooth decay. As far as tap water it really just depends on your municipality and how the water is processed. It varies from city to city. If you have any doubts as the other person stated you can always boil it.

As long as you don't have bad well water or a baby with special needs you can start using tap water now.

My son's doctor told me that I could give him filtered tap water right away. I just ran the water until warm and mixed the formula.

I was told by our Dr that you should use bottled water if your not boiling tap water. Also, as soon as teeth appear, that's when you should use nursery/bottled water that contains fluoride. Hopes this helps.

I used boiled tap water until my son was three months. By then his immune systems was up and kicking. And, I though it best his body get used to fighting the germs around him.
But, I'm a germ freak. In the opposite way. I think the body needs to fight germs. It's the only way to immunity. Your body NEEDS to fight germs. If it doesn't it will fight itself...like MS.
