Well, Americans are very proud.

But they actually do have a lot to be proud of, for the most part. They do lead the world in numerous categories, although in technology, they are lagging a little bit (no pun intended there)

Also, at the same time, they have participated in numerous dirty affairs. Politically speaking, Americans are not clean at all.

Also, America has a ridiculously high obesity rate.

Plus, America is extremely capitalistic. That's part of the reason why many countries hate America. America is all about the rush, no time to slow down. We focus on use, not material wants, for the most part.

America is a land of the free though. There's discrimination, and hate crimes, and many other bad things that afflict this country, but we have less problems than most other places in the world.

In summary, it's the capitalistic idea that people hate about Americans.

And politically speaking, name a developed country that hasn't had some kind of political "behind-the-back" dealings.

I wouldn't say America rules the world but it is the loudest. Like a brat in the playground running around screaming, stealing and shitting on all and everything it doesn't understand. How could a country which is crap at football and doesn't know how to play cricket qualify itself as part of the world anyway. America is a lonely isolated old fart that is poisoning the world with it's stench. America isn't a country it's a corporation where it's civilians are overworked underpaid employees.

Well some of them think that if they don't they ought to. And that is a serious comment about a group of intellectuals close to Dubya who really think that now is the time for the USA to, if not rule, heavily influence in its own image the rest of the world.

And pretty close to them are some seriously clever and ruthless business men who see the extension of American business interests, and not only oil, as a natural concomitant of the above,

The children are taught a type of fervent patriotism which tells them their land, way, philosophy, whatever is best.

However, and amazingly, not ALL Americans are like that. Many are thoughtful, well read people who are seriously concerned about the view the rest of the world has of the USA.

So although when you read the offensive kind of statement that you put in your question, and we have all read them, remember that America is not all George Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney, there are good people there who do not want to rule the world.

So don't hate them just because they are American, anymore than they should hate you because you are whatever you are.

What do you expect, they all desend from those that couldn't hack it in Europe anyway. They have no history apart from what they stole off the native Indians, now they're trying their bully-boy tactics all round the world. They're still fleecing the UK for the rubbish they sold to us in WW2 for a vast profit and if they had supported us instead of selling down the river at Suez there won't be half the trouble in the Middle East that there is today.

For a country where the wealthy 1% of the population brainwashed the 99% into thinking that its so good and everywhere else is so bad,And where the 99% use credit cards to live the good life ( of Debt) they are a waste of space.
If everyone had to pay all their debts right now and an account is done, American GDP would be much lower than that of Bangladesh.

No. No. No.
America is destroying the world.
The arrogance of the self-appointed guardians of 'global democracy' is staggeringly naive, when their own country is in civil liberty free-fall.
Belligerance is not a good character trait.
When they get rid of their trigger-happy President (possibly the most hated person on earth), realise they are not invincible, and stop being so damn greedy, then I'll listen to them.
I think I will be dead and buried before that happens.
Hell, they can't even spell their own language correctly.
F*uck-wits through and through.

How on Earth America can say? It is just a phrase - that's all, and every where you can find someone saying the similar about his/her own country.
P S friend of mine lived there for couple of months. it was a brain wash for kids with flag and anthem in the morning. apart from that - the same human beings who need to pay their bills

They're not thinking that at the moment as we are fighting that war for them in Iraq. America says it has the greatest military in the world, yet how can that be true when they keep asking Britain for help when they start a war?

Nationalism is stupid. How can anyone be proud of something they had no control over?None of us chose our place of birth,or the colour of our skin. You can be proud of your own achievements, but nationalism & racism are ridiculous.I laugh when i see the morons beating their drums & flying their flags, strutting around as if they were important.

She sure likes to think she does... and her thumbs are in an awful lot of pies.

But remember... the sun never used to set on the British Empire... but it does now. Even the mighty fall and change.

What's that saying? When the mighty fall, they fall hard.

I do not wish the demise of the USA... but some perspective could do them good.
