I mean, whats the American public going to do about it? I think she was just pissed that she got disrespected, on her own show, and she wanted to embarrass him alittle bit, cuz if she REALLY wanted to take the high road, she would ahve kept her mouth closed.

Does anyone agree?

yes I agree! Kelly over reacted! Clay shouldn't have done it, but Kelly could have made a joke out of it or let it go!

The hand over the mouth incident was I think the final straw for Kelly. I caught the whole show on youtube and it appears that the two began having snide comments after a replay of Ripa dressing up and lip syncing as Clay last Halloween. He didn't take it as a joke as it was intended and you can see how Kelly struggled to keep things light during the show. He even made a comment about not going to the big wedding (joke) to host the show with her, although he was second guessing that decision (not joking).

I don't think her comments horrible. Maybe she didn't need to bring it up again, but she may have chose to mention it because people sensed the tension between Clay and her and she wanted to address it. Either way... her comments weren't entirely out of line. Clay should lighten up.

Kelly and Regis rehash a lot of their lives. For her to have not brought it up would have been out of character for her. (And Reg, too).
I watch them whenever I have a day off from work, even my husband finds them funny - and that's saying something!
If any one of my co-workers - male or female, straight or gay, had placed their hand over my mouth, I would have been much less diplomatic (probably something more like "What the hell do you think you're doing?) than Kelly. And the whole Rosie incident is just typical of that cow Rosie. She is always jumping into everything, creating strife where there is none. The comment about "I don't know where that hand has been" wasn't a comment directed at a gay person. It was used to lighten up a moment when Clay was touching her face and it gave him and her a way out of an bad situation.

Kelly Ripa didn't "out" Clay Aiken on t.v. She snidely made a comment about his covering her mouth. What her intentions were when she made her quip are really all in the interpretation. It was fairly immature to discuss his "unappreciative" manner on The View via phone but she never outed him. If anything Rosie would be the one outing him... although its pretty much a matter of tabloid gossip and industry banter as to his sexuality.

I do. I think Ripa should have just let it go and not brought it up on the next show. She gives me the impression that she's one of these types of chicks that I can't stand. You know the ones that think it's "cute" if they pinch a guy as* but if the guy does it to them they get mad. If Ripa had put her hand over Regis' mouth she probably would have thought of it as a cute little joke but if someone does that to her...

Clay is a nice Southern guy who teaches learning disabled and handicapped kids.Kelly is turning into another Kathie Lee. She was sweet and funny in the beginning and now she thinks the show is "Kelly and Regis".

I am with kelly on this one cause clay was rude and now everyone is thinking it is funny to disrespect someone on tv or whereever. Maybe that is what is wrong with this country people find it funny to disrespect people. good luck and god bless and happy thanksgiving.

I think it is good to call people out when they are being rude. Too many of us don't and as a result the rude behavior continues. It is not impolite to tell someone when they are being rude, It is how you tell them that counts.

Many times rude people rely on the good manners of us who take the "high road", don't challenge rude behavior and and keep our comments to our selves.

It was classless of Clay as a guest on anyone's program
to be rude not Kelly for calling him on his rudeness.

In the position that she is in, I think that it would have been best to take the high road and not respond. Maybe she's trying to be the next Bill O'Reilly??

I thought it was really rude for him to put his hand on her mouth....come on you dont do that. I think she had every right to be annoyed or angry about the whole thing.
