It is important to us because plants use carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, and by doing that they are taking something we dont want to breath out of the air. In terms of oxygen plants release CO2 turned into oxygen into the air, which is good, because (as im sure your aware) we need oxygen to breath! Plants use carbon dioxide during photosynthesis to produce oxygen. They naturally clean the air for us.

During photosynthesis carbon is taken in by the plants they use it and produce oxygen for us to breath and the cycle repeats. This process is probably one of the greatest contributors to the oxygen level we have now.

Well.. Photosynthesis is the ability by plants to change light into energy.
Also in the process - CO2 (carbon dioxide) is consumed, producing O2 (oxygen).
It is essential for life as we know it on this planet!

Photosynthesis uses carbon dioxide in the process, and creates oxygen as a byproduct. Animals use oxygen for their cellular processes that release energy - which creates carbon dioxide as a byproduct. Thus, plants and animals need each other to ensure there's enough oxygen and carbon dioxide available for each other.

Oxygen is a by-product of photosynthesis. Animals need oxygen to breathe (respire). Carbon dioxide is a by-product of respiration and plants need carbon dioxide to photosynthesize. Works out pretty well.

Photosynthesis turns light energy into energy that canbe used by the plant. Potosynthesis used corbon dioxide and through a chemical reaction when turning light enrgy into the other energy, it produces oxygen.
