and does it help to keep cats away

Cats No.
It adds compost to your garden as the grouts are only vegetable or plant matter after all.
It is a researched fact that it makes snails and slugs go away.
It apparently does them no harm but, for some reason they don't like it and leave.

In fact ground coffee, tea leaves,and all natural remain are good for your garden,that's what's is recycling,in other mean, we all agree about the new slogan "Back to nature" isn't it ?

It adds acidity to the soil and is a good amendment to keep the soil moist & light.

Yes i use it to keep cats out.The worms like it,other then that beats me.

I dont know but I have heard that tea leaves are aswell.

grounds provide acid for acid loving plants like hydrangeas.
