Depends on your preference. Cats are great companions if you want an animal that isn't always around you, is quiet, and doesn't require alot of attention. But dogs are way better if you want a friednly, loving, and loyal companion you can always count on being there for you. One you can cuddle with or play around with. One you can train and spend time with going places. I was always a cat person but after we got our Lab, I can definately see the differences and I can't believe I didn't get one sooner!! (Had dogs growing up, just not since I left home years ago)

depends on what you want from an animal> cats are independant as they are a Solitary animal > Dogs seek company because they're Pack animals.
Cats are easier to look after and dont need exercising as much!
Dogs need taking out in all weathers!
Which are best - neither! I love my dog and both my cats just as much as each other and all three show me love in different ways!

It wasn't until after my grandmother died that I realized my grandfather and I needed some companionship from an animal. I was not home much at the time, so I decided to get a cat. They practically take care of themselves. I love my cat Lightning to death and she loves me just as much in return. I say for cats.

I have a dog, a cat, a rabbit and a gerbil. I like cats best.

I like the general personality of cats, they are answerable to no-one. They always seem to be in control and behave as if they are superior to everything.

Dogs are a close second tho, at least they are loyal.

i think that you should get a dog and get a cat, but if youa re going to do this idea then make sure that you get a dog that likes cats, and if you are only aloud to get one then i would suggest a girl cat (just because boys spray). good luck.

I prefer cats, dogs tend to be a bit chewy. it's hard to get a nice tender dog steak.

lol joking but really I do prefer cats.
