thanks to all who answered my last questions -- all great knowledge. i just have one follow up...

some said that if i did not force the prongs in the outlet, it is fine. but i did... sort of. by force i mean use of moderate strength and easing it into the outlet by wiggling the plug back and forth into the outlet. meaning not brute strength but not just plugging something in as i normally would. what exactly is 'forcing' it in? and is what i did okay and leave the outlet safe to use?

please just indulge my psychosis - hahahaaa - thanks!!

Well providing ther plastic/rubber of the plug has not cracked then it is difficult to see how there is a safety issue - assuming the pinds still seem firmly held in place.

For the small cost involved how about buying a new plug - and when a friend visits who is "handy with such things" and can put a plug onsafelty, let him fita new one for you.

I think it is overkill to be honest BUT if a 50p / 1$ plug is going to help give you peace of mind, I think it might be worth it.
