If you are sure your computer says it has DDR SDRAM then that's what you must get. Most suppliers shorten the name of DDR SDRAM to simply DDR. SDRAM is an older type of RAM, with fewer pin contacts on it.

To be on the safe side, you could go to http://www.crucial.com and download their Crucial System Scanner. (It's on the first page.) It's a tiny program that you run from your computer. It will indicate precisely what your motherboard is, how much RAM you have present, what type of RAM it is, the speed of your memory, and tell you how many free memory slots you have available.

Of course, you don't need to purchase the memory from Crucial. Simply make a note of the information it gives you.

DDR, but you need to know if you have DDR 1 or 2, chances are you have DDR 1. DDR is a specific type of SDRAM. But standard SDRAM will is not actually compatable
