Kinda gothy and trendy. Not sure you want to look like a witch on Halloween.
Not sexy at all.
Ruby red all the way.

Wear what ever nail polish you feel comfortable wearing. How a person wears their makeup and jewelry adds a lot to how good it looks to others. Personally I love black nail polish and I wear it well because of that.

Colors can convey attitude and style....or lack there of...so here's what I'd think about....
1. If you have short, neatly filed nails... and are wearing something white/black/red -- you can convey a chic look. Oh so Hollywoodish...
2. If you have short, neatly filed nails....and are wearing ripped jeans and some funky colored sweaters, scarves, etc..... you can convey an "artiste" look.
3. If you have pale skin, dramatic makeup and black clothes, you'll take on that gothic look...which can be chic if you are neat.
I think it is great to express yourself with makeup....but keep in mind what you are trying to convey. In fashion, there are no rights & wrongs, just people's opinions.
Experiment with your toes -- and if it looks good against your skin...go for it. You have nothing to lose but $5.00 and some nail polish remover!
Viva la style!

I think if you want dark nail polish go for a purple tinged nail polish. It's still really dark, but it still has a girly feel. Also the people who wear black nail polish only do it on halloween, or they're total goths.

I used to wear it all the time.... and not cause I was goth or anything. I think it really makes your nails look slimmer and longer and it can look elegant with the right outfit. I only stopped wearing it because my boyfriend hated it... and it was hard to remove the dark color off of my nails when I wanted a change.

Ppl think its goth which its really mean because black doesn't make you a goth. That means labelling is really dumb. Black nail polish is just black, like any other kind of nail polish. I love it cuz black is my fav color (others say its a shade but w/e) My parent really dun like it. They think its a freak show...

I have no problem with it. I don't wear nail polish often ( maybe once or twice in the year) and when I do it's always black. I guess I were black b/c Iike the shade and I can play around w/ it.

Personally - EVERYtime I've seen a girl with black polish on it has been all chipped up and trashy looking. I think if your polish is starting to chip off.....take the 10 min to re-apply for God sake.
I suppose if it's maintained and neat looking it might be ok.
