bavarian motor works...and actually...it's werks not works in german. Based in Stuttgart Germany...it is the bavarian part of germany. The BMW engine actually started out as an airplane engine during the first world war. You can find out more on the web...I don't have the site handy but it's interesting reading.
On the other hand...the BMW motorcycle is made in the UK....go figure.
