Its not the same as watching movies with flesh.. alot of people prefer it because you use your imagination. Alot of people confuse erotic novels with romance novels. My mom reads romance novels which are basically love stories that usually say a night of passion rather then an erotic novel which would concentrate on the sexual encounter along with sexually explicit details.

sounds like a trashy novel where the story isn't that good but the descriptions of the encounters between the male and female protagonist are graphic... i.e. "steamy" and "erotic".
if you ever watched the movie "10 things i hate about you" you'll notice that the guidance counselor is writing an "erotic" novel through the entire film. it gives you an idea of the stuff that's in the books.

The words erotic and novel do not belong in the same sentence.
It is useless, erotic blather that serves no other purpose than to entice the mind and flesh with erotic urges.

An erotic novel is not rude or porn. It is more like a sexual tease to get you thinking about who you really are.
