You MUST always make time for self or you will lose yourself. I am a single parent or 4 sons (3 teens) I work full time and just graduated from college this year. I go out to dinner or lunch weekly with my sister and mother and I do happy hour a few times a month with my best friend. I occassionally take aself-enrichment class. Treat your 'time-out" as if it was a job - which means you MUST have a time out.

what makes marriage work and less stressful is understanding between the man and the woman. your marriage can never work when all your husband does is working to make sure there is enough money. little work by both and understanding equals to enough time for yourselves. the mistake couples make is that many dont discuss how they will run there family before getting married. if you had planned with your husband that you were going to have three kids you should have discussed on how to raise them up. i suggest you and your husband sow your coats according to your sizes. what i mean is that you reduce your spending and "comfort". if you are living in two bedroom flat move to one, shop in expensive supermarket, start shopping in cheaper one. when you do this, your husband can now reduce his working period and thus have time to look after the teenagers as well. though this is not easy but you havent got choice.also start advicing people to think before they say i do to each other.

I have a 17 year old, 22 month old twins, a husband and I am a stay-at-home mom. I never have time for myself until after the kids are in bed. That is about 10:30 at night. Then I just want to go to sleep.

go into the bathroom, lock the door, take a long hot bath
my kids are 5 and 6 and I don't get help around the house nor with the kids. I lock the door to the bathroom, sit for 5 minutes and regroup.

You take the time for yourself and inform your "boys" this is your quiet time and they best not invade it. If they do, they're gonna hear about this and it ain't gonna be pretty. Give them chores and tell them that should be keep them busy and those chores better get done or else. That is your house and you do have a say so of how things are gonna be.
