I'd say the PS3 because it's a good value - you can play BluRay and those players by themselves cost like, $1000. So... PS3. plus the Wii is kind of lame, I played it.

It's really your personal preference.
You really have to think about how much money you're willing to spend, how much you think you'd enjoy the console, and how many games from that console interest you. I mean, it can be a great console, but what's the point of paying for it if you only find several games that interest you?

I actually have the Wii, and it's hella fun. You make look a little silly playing it, but I've definitely had a lot of fun. They had no Zelda left at the store I went to though, >_<. One of my teachers has the Wii, PS3, and the 360. He also enjoys the Wii the most.

I don't know why someone said that the Wii would have a lot of problems because of all the new innovative features it's incorporating, since the PS3 is also experimenting with things like BluRay. However, I have not had a problem with my Wii, and my teacher has not had a problem with his Wii or PS3. I have read about consumers reporting many bugs with the PS3, though. I've also heard that backwards-compatibility (ability to play PS2/PS1 games) is not working quite right. So if you settle on the PS3, I would wait till after the holiday season when the bugs are fixed.

This is a question you have to answer yourself based on what each system has to offer. The PS3 will certainly have better graphics and will (eventually) have a good selection of games. It also has the ability to play Blue Ray discs which isn't a big concern yet since there are few movies released on it and they are pretty expensive. It is extremely hard to find and there aren't many good choices for games yet. Plus its very expensive. If you choose this route your best bet is to wait for a few months before getting one. The Wii on the other hand offers a unique experience that you can't find on any other system. It has a focus on innovation and fun. It has less graphical power than the PS3, but the graphics aren't bad by any means and they don't take away from the enjoyment of the game. The games that will come out in the next few months will certainly have better graphics as well. They are cheaper and there are more available right now. It really boils down to innovation and gameplay vs graphics and selection (eventually)

it depends on your gameplay style, and which one uve been a fan of longer...some people like to stay loyal to playstation, some to microsoft, some to nintendo. but side by side, PS3 has waaay better games and graphics than Wii, though Wii is waaay more interactive than PS3. Id tell u to get the Wii only because the PS3's price is just out the roof. $600 for PS3 vs $250 for Wii. PS3 wont depreciate in price for another year or two...so buy the Wii, and save up some money for a year or so, then you can get the PS3. best of both worlds!

Nintendo Wii 100%!!! Great games, Nintendo's serious this time, plus it's sth so different and innovative! And it doesnt look like kid's stuff anymore. Plus, it's cheaper AND it comes with a nice game incl in the price, AND Zelda:Twilight Princess is available at launch!! (one of the greatest game series imho)
ps3 is same old same old.. and if I wanted a fat HDD i'd go play PC games, I mean that huge price for 60GB? (ok i kno its a console, but please!)

OH! and u can connect and download all GameCube and N64 games (and even older) for like 5euros or so!! What else could anyone ask for??

Get the Wii. It offers different gameplay and alot of features like the ability to go on the internet(i.e. you can go on yahoo anwsers on the wii), check weather or current events, and even buy games (that are stored on the wii's memory and are bought off the internet) from NES, SNES, N64, SEGA GENISIS, and TURBOGRAFX. All the ps3 has that is different from ps2 is good grafics. Plus, the wii is about half of the price of the ps3

Please don't get the Nintendo system. Do it in the name of all that is manly. Who wants a system named after what kids say when they have to go the bathroom or just finished riding on a pony at a craft fair??? Get the PS3, but wait until after Christmas so Sony can fix all the bugs, and you might get a better price.
