They may not " have " to, but they are fully capable of logic. I work with many female scientists who are dependent on logic. I do understand you in part. In a emotionally heated argument between mates, men try to win with logic, while women can be overcome with their emotions; only when the person the are arguing with is that close to them. They do not feel the same toward lesser relationships and strangers. All, on average, of course.

Maybe they are using logic and you just don't understand it. Men and Women have different types of logic, as you probably know. Men and women are different but that's a converstation for another time, one you should have had a long time ago with mom or dad. If you don't understand what the woman is saying than for God's sake ask her! You're not going to get anywhere if you don't ask questions. I am a woman and I can tell you sometimes 'my' logic makes no sense at all. Of course at the time I'm using this 'logic' it makes sense to me but looking back it doesn't. Stop being so hard on women and just listen...you may just learn something.

I don't think that is true at all. Women have to use logic too. If they get away with not using logical arguments, the guy must be dumb for accepting an illogical answer.

I'm guessing you are a guy. I would like to say that this is a gross exaggeration and a stereotype- I am female and very logical and I would say I use it, particularly in arguments.
The reason men 'have to use logic' is because many don't and the fact is pointed out to them, drawing their attention to the issue.

My guess would be that since women use the emtional side of their brain they need some kind logical answers to whats going on. I defientely need logic when I am emtionally spinning out of control.

Because women are emotional beings and we resort to our emotional responses first. Logic makes no sense when your emotions are overflowing.
Interesting, my husband and I were talking about this very thing a day or two ago.

Because if they are arguing with other men then how else would we get our sex? Well.. We can but it's not nearly as fun.
They can with other women because they don't care who's right they want to win. Not much different from men but for some stupid reason women get away with it.

This is not a question of logic rather a question about the illogical restraints we put on ourselves, where even our thought processes are perscibed by what we think is expected of us.
Theres my answer. We do what we think we should.
