I wan to know which is the best or good Fire wall for my PC Running win Xp Pro. the windows fire wall i don know much about

The absolute best firewall method is hardware not software.
(built into most routers but available for very little as stand alone units)
The reason being that should a hacker or attacker manage to get through they discover that they still have yet another layer of security to breach.
One other huge advantage to hardware over software is that system rescources aren't being unecissarily used.
All too often people install software firewalls thinking they need some sort of magical power lockout system and end up accidentally locking themselves out of what they wish to do online.
Don't believe the buzz, firewalls don't need to watch and monitor your every move or record every tiny piece of traffic.
In the end, if a hacker is good enough to get through having that record of information is more damaging than helpful.

A good firewall should pretty much set itself up and not need that much input from the user, but even so, many firewalls can block connections from some legitimate programs you are using, mostly i recommend ZoneAlarm, its pretty simple and you cant beat free

zone alarm is the best firewall, theres a free version or a pro version with a few more options added on it.

for your own sanity just use the windows firewall included with service pack 2. zone alarm is the biggest piece on the planet. do not use it.

nicely i choose zone alarm over homestead windows ,because of the fact in zone alarm you could enable particular web pages , I surely have homestead windows one care stay now and with it and sp2 alot of your classes won't even artwork anymore , because of the fact of all thier protection , yet whilst vista comes out it is going to likely be even worse ,so i might stay with zone alarm as long as microsoft facilitates you to , i heard that they are unlikely to allow something yet microsoft with vista, to attempt to place all the different distributors out of employer

windows firewall is good, if you have mcafee use their firewall.
