Sell yourself rather than the product. Many times people buy not because of the product unless the product has some value - status symbol. People would buy a 100cc Honda motorbike instead of the Mercedes Benz because the sales person appeal to the buyer.
Nobody wants to be sold. If you 'allow' the to make decision, they would 'buy', sometimes for no reason at all - this is where products difficult to sell is sold.
Similarly how would you sell ice in north pole? If it can be use to keep the ice house away from the freezing wind, why not?

Find out the reasons why it is so hard to sell and see if you can do anything about it. To find out, ask your customers for feedback. Try to have a solution that can meet the objections raised by your customer and of which your product can help solve. "Sell" your product on the basis that it can meet your customer's needs. People will only buy if the product can solve their problems.
