Well if he has all the "things" he could ever want or need how about finding something that he can "do". I don't know how active he is or what his activity interests are but I would get him a pass of some sort. Does he like to fish? Does he like sports? Does he like golfing? ETC. ETC. Once you find this out then research websites or companies that supply activities that he can plan around his schedule but is already paid for. He will have a good time and another great memory thanks to his ever so thoughtful child! Below is a link just to get you pointed in the right direction.

This went over big with my dad... I made him a book about his life. No scrap booking here...

I used nice paper, which I then dyed in strong tea to make it look aged. I then dried it and seared the edges with a lighter.

I made a simple story line highlighting the events of his life, including personal jokes and family jokes as well. I can't draw worth a hill of beans, but I did all the sketches in simple stick figures, and coloured them with pastels, crayons, and acrylic paints.

I bound the book using barf-bags (unused and illustrated) as a cover (my dad was a pilot). I also included lyrics to songs, poems and special mementos (a pic of him and I when I was a baby).

It went over BIG, and I had a great time making it. My dad died last November... I found the book with his "precious papers".

Best wishes, and happy creating... Merry Christmas!!

I have always found that the best gift is time spent together! Especially between children and parents. Plan a day with him, it doesn't have to be expensive or fancy, maybe just a movie marathon, lunch, and bowling, whatever! He'd probably love it and it's worth a million bucks!

Something you've made yourself. Monetary value isn't important. Or write him a check for services or kisses or something.

One year for our anniversary, I wrote my husband a check, but instead of an amount I wrote in "good for _______." You could do something similar, although what you fill in the blank will be quite different from what I wrote!

Naw, just ask him what he likes. Or buy him a gift card. Then again, everyone could use a vacation every now & then....

Good Luck!
