I am a white liberal. I certainly do not want Jesse Jackson, Sr, to BE president. He is a racist (Mel Gibson's tirade has nothing on the Reverend Jackson's recorded anti-Semitism). He is an unprincipled opportunist (claims to be a civil rights "leader," turned his back on a living icon of the civil rights efforts, Joe Lieberman, to back his opponent because Lieberman would not toe every syllable of the Party line on "We hate George Bush.") The Reverend Jackson leads the "Rainbow Coalition" that has only one color in it. He takes it upon himself to intervene in international relations only at moments where he can get publicity. I supported Doug Wilder (Democrat, former Governor of Virginia) for President. Wilder is also an African-American, he's just an honest and effective African-American unlike Jackson. I can support Barak Obama for higher office. I can support any number of Democrats, and quite a few Republicans, for President, if they are in fact principled.

Jackson fails the "principled" test.

This is actually a moot question since Jesse did make an attempt to run and got crushed in the early running, you might have asked if I'm a white liberal do I want Barack Obama to run for President, I think you'd get a lot of Yes responses to that one, but let's face it that isn't the reason you posit the question now is it?

No and it has nothing to do with being white and liberal. It has to do with he is not somebody that should be running this country.
