I recieved a felony dishonesty charge about 5 years back, I was wondering if in some way would the charge be sentenced down or have been expunged automatically. I am so afraid to answer that question when applying for jobs. Please what should I do.

As a hiring manager, I want to know about that conviction, exactly why it happened, and why it won't happen again. Truthfully, a dishonesty offense is about the hardest kind for a company to forgive -- if there is an equal candidate with no convictions, that person will get hired first. No crime gets expunged automatically -- you have to apply to the court to have it sealed or expunged.

The best thing to do it just put down that you are, there should be a space where you can wirte what you got charged with. Just tell them the truth and write that you are debating the charge

The last thing you need is to be getting in trouble with the law again. The best policy is to answer truthfully, especially if they are conducting a background check.

you must, many will still hire you but it will be harder
(sucks but it is true)

you can ask to speak to the employer about your charge(know a guy who did and got the job)

You have to put it down. You wouldn't want them hiring you then finding out later...then firing you, would you?
