I have two teenage boys and they had to have physicals by 12 yrs old w/ their Pediatrician, and I was right there w/ them in the exam room, it didn't bother them at all. Because it's important that they feel comfortable even if it means having Mom there, I just turned my head when the Dr. examined each one of them, no problems. Then it was done, the Dr. asked them how they would like to be examined for their "maturity" exam. It was a positive experience, don't think of it as losing the modesty, but rather retaining your health.

Wow....I am assuming that you are the dad and not the mom...because I can't imagine that you would think it appropriate for your daughter to be butt naked with boys at 13 or 14! Assuming this is true, you need to lighten up and give her some support and understanding...there are many reasons why a girl of that age would be uncomfortable exposing herself to anyone....even a doctor....I would rather have my daughter be modest at that age than be running around half naked.....If her doctor is a male, then maybe she would be more comfortable with a female doctor...why don't you try to understand what she is feeling....and help her through any real issues she may have rather that thinking there is something wrong with her because she is modest.....not sure I've ever seen or heard a dad talk this way about his dtr....I would think that you 'd be happy.....maybe you should talk to your doctor and get some advice on how to handle this....good luck to both of you...

It depends on the person:
I'm nearly 48 and haven't yet lost the modesty your child seems to have. On the other hand, two of my younger sibs were BORN without any sense of modesty at all.

say what? you are never suppose to lose your modesty,,,,, as to accepting going to the doctor,,, most teen age girls have problems with that, her shyness is normal,,,,, calling her a big baby shows that you are still immature,, so i would leave these type decisions to her,,, and who needs to get waxed?

Girls are different than boys. And, think of the millions of fathers who Wish their daughters were more modest. THINK about it, grandpa! And then take your great kid out for a special father / daughter evening since you don't have to shop for bottles and diapers, a "home for girls" or a lawyer.
