oil level is good and has just been changed recently.

Its been along time since I have worked on one of those machines and I can't remember if they were equipped with oil coolers (would look like a small radiator under the front plastic.
If it does have one check to see if it is packed with mud/dirt, if it is rinse it out with a hose.

--It could be something as simple as the oil light "bulb" is loose in it's socket.
--The oil sensor could be working intermitently (electrical junk do that all the time). The sensor is on the rear engine cover. First make sure that the screw that holds the wire is tight. Then follow the wire up and make sure the connection is good with the wire harness.
--Next, change the sensor.

TAke it into your town/city dealership to see what is wrong with it. Maybe the temperature guage on there is screwed.

change oiol if comes on again have it tested at a dealer -
