Horses and dogs!! If you want a high maintenance fur-ball then get a cat. :-)

as an animal lover i find good qualities in all three, dogs and cats can be with you all the time, horses offer a different pleasure in freedom while riding. any animal, if treated kindly and with love will reciprocate in kind.

Horses because they are very gentle creatures. Well majority of them anyway. I've been around horses all my life and even own one. Why would you want to know this anyway? not trying to be rude, but just curious.

Cats. You can dump a bowl of dry cat food on the floor and a bowl of water and say "Bye kitty, see you tomorrow!" You can't do that with a dog or a horse.

The animal you decide to have must depend on your lifestyle and how active you are. I choose deaf Great Danes, yes, deaf ... they can't hear. Great Danes are great dogs anyway but the deaf ones tend to have a stronger bond with their human. Rescue an animal from the pound, they always seem so "grateful" to have a second chance.

if you have the land, horses are pretty cool, but they are very expensive to keep if you're just doing it as a pet
dogs are very versitile and you can have one in almost every situation of where you live
i like cats, but i just cant live with them, they are too independent

Cats are best if you wat soemthing that looks after itself
Dogs are best if you want them to get you post / slippers
Horses are the only ones that seem to be able to handle me riding them around a field.
(Depends what "better" means)

I would have to agree with you. However cats are nice... they go well in stew over rice!
