my office is collecting holiday gifts for families in a local shelter. I picked an 11 year old girl. I don't know anything about her. Any ideas? I was thinking a purse or some lip glosses or nailpolish.

or a throw blanket? trying to think of things she might really need, but wouldn't be a bummer to get (like socks).

I would suggest you get her a blue, silver, or gold purse filled with stuff. like lip gloss, nail polish, small thing of lotion, perfume,and mirror. or you could put other things like cut pencils, minature notepads, hair scrunchies, or even brush. 11 year olds are usually trying to grow up so don't put things that are kiddy. A purse is a cute idea as long as not dressy but everyday thats made for that age-look in the teen shop at Macys or even Penny's has some really cute ones that are reasonable,also whats popular are the trendy,theme backpurses (worn on back). Were it me I'd get a cute purse or backpurse,put a small package of flavored lipgloss and a cute bracelet-all these items can be found in the pre-teen and teen accessory shops found at the mall-just look for the one that has a lot of young gis and accessories are rings,bracelets,hair accessories, an so forth.Naturally were not talking expensive bracelets but $5-10dollars.A really nice school packback would be nice too with some school supplies box that has eraser,pencil,pen ruler and so forth for living in a shelter important .that things can be kept neatly together. A really nice jewelry box with some cute(not expensive) jewelry in it-can also be found preteen-teen shops at the mall.Too bad you do not know her size for these children really NEEDome COOL Clothes to fit in with at school. a portable desk -the kind one can use anywhere to write on would be useful and some books esp Latest Harry Potter. Hello Kitty is a popular brand with girls that age and a Hello Kitty Shop can be found at the mall and all the items I've mentioned with the Hello Kitty Logo. I am 11 I am not girly or a sports person. I am talented or as people say in writing. I think an activity set with drawing or something would be good. She is most likely talented in a way and you need to find out how and buy something that will help with they're talent. If not a book or video game.

My sister is 11 and she loves to listen to music so maybe get this girl a cute CD or something Disney Channel. Or lip gloss might work if she is really girly, because my sister doesn't like that stuff.

Anything that has to do with Bratz! Also Most 11 year olds love Sponge Bob. Another idea is beauty related stuff ex. hair ties, barrettes, as you stated lip gloss is a good idea but, I personally wouldn't go there because I don't want my 11 year old wearing make up of any kind yet and her parents might feel the same, nail polish and maybe the stickers that go on their nails would be good too. One last thing that I'm gonna suggest is a diary that has a lock and is really pretty, that would be hers and hers alone.

when i was 11 all i wanted was for some make up and some lip gloss and i think she would really like it!!!

i would get something that has to with bratz because im 11 (almost 12 friday) i like bratz and cds dvds and a portable dvd player.
