how about covering the whole inside of the window with fake snow and then just rubbing out different circles throughout the window. People would actually have to walk up to the window and look through the holes you rubbed out to see inside... When I was a little kid (many moons ago), I saw this done in New York city and it was wild the way people would actually stand in line to look through the peep holes...

Or you could do the window like a christmas chocolate calendar. You know, close off the whole window with a large cardboard that has little doors with the dates on them, one for each day of the month. Every day, you could open one of the windows and have one of your items on display where the little opening is. Make sure your cardboard that covers the window is a great picture, painting or whatever. Go look at some of these chocolate calendars to get an idea and if you don't know of anyone that can do the artwork for you, try using a school, speak to the art teacher and have them do it as a project. You could then get in touch with your local paper and have them do an article on your window display and the fact that your store is a kids store and you're helping kids...
