Fine if your doctor says so. Why would you get a second opinion from an untrained unqualified stranger when you already have the advice of a trained professional that you pay for that information?

There is no reason you cannot fly early in pregnancy on a commercial flight. Be certain it's not a high altitude flight without a compressed cabin (non-commercial, very small plane flights) as the oxygen levels would be lower and could effect the amount of oxygen getting to the baby. You don't have to worry about flying until very late in the pregnancy (last 6 weeks), not because of safety, but because of the potential of going into labor at that point either on a plane or away from home. Many airlines wont let you fly after 4 weeks prior to the due date and you may require a doctor's note stating your due date. If the flight is over 3 hours long, make certain you get up and stretch your legs, walk around every hour or so. Drink plenty of water.

Hmmm...your OB said it was safe, but you're asking us?

It's safe to fly all throughout your pregnancy. Doctors and airlines don't want you to fly after the 36th week or so because they don't want you going into labor on the plane or giving birth in a different city.

But it IS safe.

I know they say you can fly up to 32 weeks. I would say, it would depend how you are feeling and hwo you handle flying. If you have never flown before, or have a hard time with flying, it might not be a good idea. If you are one of those women who gets really sick the first few months, it may also not ba a good idea. I love flying, and never got very sick, so I would have done it:)

If there was any risk, your OB would have advised against it. In general, you're fine up to 8 months, assuming everyone is healthy.

Just make sure you drink plenty of fluids before and during the trip, so you don't get dehydrated. Planes just suck water out of you.

We flew several times during my wife's pregnancies, zero problems.

As long as you're not in a little puddle-jumper, you'll be fine! My doctor said as long as things stay normal with me, I can fly on commercial flights all 9 months! Just a little advice... Take an aisle seat, for those uncontrollable bladder moments! TRUST ME!

I have flown at all stages of pregnancy... although after 34wks you need a doctors note for the airlines.

If your ob feels your pregnancy is a healthy one, then go for it... i'd HIGHLY recommend buying those sea sickness wrist bands though... especially if you still experience "morning" sickness. Don't know if it's an issue for u but if it is they sure help.

Good luck and have fun where-ever you're going :-)

My OB said flying was fine up to the 28th week, which is her office's policy. Enjoy your trip!

The problem with flying when you're pregnant is the pressue in the air that can cause you to go into labor. So if you're not near brith everything will be okay :-)
