For me, it took less then 2 minutes for T-mobile to activate my phone. My second phone, it took less then a hour. A sidekick account is difficult for them though, and may take up to 24 hours. Often times you will be able to receive calls, and just not be able to make them. Weird thing with T-mobile, but congrats on using them, T-mob is a great company. You will be happy with them. If your SK isn't up and running in...oh say 12 hours, call Customer Care (1-800-937-8997) and see where they are at.

Mine was acitviated right away, I put my SIM card in, gave them a call and they set it up.
