I'm trying to get my hands on a copy of the BBC version of Woman in White from the 1980's. I believe it is from 1982.
It is a 2 part series, and was aired on masterpiece theatre here in the U.S. several years ago.

Where can I find it? I would even be willing to purchase it from overseas.

I live for these questions... First of all, Im the only white person in a all black high school. Second, Im female. I like to view racism as just a mix up of misunderstanding and lack of communication. Let's set up a situation. Let's say hypothetically, you were in a large room filled with people from all over the world. And let's just say everyone in the room could speak english and are all around the same age as you (just so there are no restrictions in this hypothetical situation). Chances are, if you didn't know anyone in the group, you would head over to, or at least feel more comfortable talking to, the americans. It's not racist, it's all about what kinds of people a person is use to being around. If a person grew up in a mostly white environment, they would think people from other racecs and ethnicities would not understand them and vice versa! Most people are scared of leaving their comfort zone, whether it be food, race, location, or even style. Besides, if you grew up in a black community, chances are your life would be a little different from somebody who grew up in a white community or asian community. And people are afraid of that difference! Im not saying it's right, but we are creatures of comfort and prefer to deal with things we are already use to, and leave the unknown... well, alone!
