It was a huge slap in the face awakening of reality. Those things really did happen, and they still DO happen. There are alot of messed up people in this world. Too bad that we can't stop things like this from happening.

Very sad, yet gives hope at the same time. The main depressing thing is that this was not just an anomaly. It's not a truly unique circumstance as this happens to a lot of kids who never get the help they need.

I read all three books ( I can't remember the names of the other two) years ago. I couldn't believe that it was a true story. It makes me sick to think that anyone could treat a child like that. I'm glad that this man could make his story public. It was probably could closure for him on his horrible childhood.

I thought it was a very touching book.I don't know if you could call it good because of all the horrible things that actually happened. In parts it was kinda sad but it got to where you couldn't stop reading it.

it was disgusting, sad, horrifying and nauseuating that that book is a true story. im sorta glad i read it but im also traumatized for reading it.
he also wrote a book about his life after he grew up and how he
got through that horrible life, hes married now, i hope he's happy and healthy because he deserves it.

god, i hated that book. it made me so sad to think there is actually such cruelty towards an innocent child in this world. i admire him for coming through it all as well-adjusted as he is.

One of my friends handed it to me after she found out I had a similiar (not nearly as violent) past, and I found it inspirational. Very touching, very heartbreaking, and extraordinarily eye opening.
