Hello! I need to replace front/rear differential fluid in 2004 V6 AWD Highlander. Could someone tell me how or point to a web link that tells me how? Is it a pain to replace it? better to take the SUV to shop? Thanks!

Well if it has a bolt on pan on the front or back sorta like 10 or 12 bolts in circle you have to take them all off and it pops of and fluid comes pouring out now fun part is clean it out with rag get metal shavings out and make sure you put good gasket back on bolt it back together and pour whatever recommended fluid in there. Now for fun part if its grey or metaly looking you have problems i.e. your pinion rings. Last but not least I doubt very seriously at 2 yrs old you need to change your fluid there unless you been takeing it swimming.

check the fluid level in the rear end,3/8 drive ratchet on the passenger side of the gearbox. but i have a feeling that it is power steering related. check that also.
