Learn to use a planner, organize your time and the tasks you need to get done. Then stick to it religiously. Make sure you cross off all the jobs that need to get done, daily. You will feel a sense of accomplishment when you see what is getting done, and it will motivate you to keep it up.

I used to be a really bad procrastinator, now I'm better. But in order to change, you've got to get really really sick of rushing around and panicking at the last minute. Which unfortunately is a bit of an adreneline rush.. so sometimes it's hard to stop the cycle. I found that as I got older, I really enjoyed being prepared ahead of time. Good luck w/ this, it's not easy, but I know you can make a change.

It's difficult to break a procrastination habit. I know. Awhile back, I bought a book "How To Stop Procrastinating" - - but I haven't read it yet!

I used to be a procrastinator. Until I got married.
Now I get hourly reminders of things I should be doing.

Lots and lots of work. It sounds like you are used to that rush you get when you are under pressure. Some people get hooked on that feeling. Start by setting clocks 10 min. fast. its simple and it helps some people. How long have you been doing this?It won't change overnight.

Maybe it's just not worth it to not procrastinate. Take being fat for example. There are a lot of benefits to not being fat in society, so you'd think that rational people would not eat presently to save up for future happiness by not being fat later. Maybe present happiness is worth a lot to them or they didn't account for future happiness correctly.

If you have family or close friends, you can tell your family or friend that you may have something important to take care of and when it's suppose to be done and that you may need a reminder every now and then, and that may help, you know get someone who is close to you to call you on it, write things down, in more than one place, set alarms, I hope some of these things help you out, I should know my husband is like that and I am getting him to get better, I like to do things early on so it kind of evens out you know..................Good Luck......................I hope you find your way out of a bad habit.................................

Break tasks down into smaller steps. If your staring at a messy room, clean off one table. If you have a report to write, do one paragraph.
