If you dislike driving and have to spend all day driving around a town or city, then an auto might be your best choice.

If you LOVE driving a car and like to have full control of what the car is doing and when it is doing it, you are likely to prefer a manual I suspect.

My personal preference is a Manual Transmission. Also if a repair is needed, replacing a clutch is a lot cheaper than having an automatic rebuilt. If most of your driving is in the city or heavy traffic an automatic would be the best since you don't have to depress the clutch all the time. The new transmission of choice in the auto/manual transmission where you have have it in automatic mode and forget about shifting or flip the shifter over and you enter a manual type mode, but don't have to deal with the clutch pedal.

I have a unique theory (I think). Most ppl say that auto transmission is easier in traffic but I noticed that ur right leg gets all the strain during driving. If u get (learn to be) proficient in driving a manual car, your left leg hold the clutch while the right leg does the brakes when needed (in a jam you would hold the leg on the brake till the traffic moves a bit every few seconds). Also manual is more fun cos it gets you more 'involved' into driving if thats your sort of thing.

Just my opinion.

Manual, but what kind of car or truck? Some would prefer a sporty 5 speed, but some people won't buy anything other than an auto, when it's time for you to sell. If you're in town alot, the fun of a 5 speed goes away after awhile.

Manual trans. do better on gas mil age. However most Americans like convenience of automatic. I think more men have manual. My own experience is that the manual trans. lasted longer but you may have to replace a clutch.

It depends, if you do alot of driving, or you like the benefit of having a spare hand to eat, get an auto. If your driving to and from work, or about 3 hours a week, get a stick, you'll notice thats sticks are cheaper that autos.
