I tried lollipops, but you can't go around with a lollipop all day long.Gum is probably the only other thing, be careful that whatever you choose, you don't become addicted to it, I knew a man who chose life savers to try and quit, he quit, but then he was buying life savers by the cases.
Some courses say you should keep a journal, and write down each time you have a cigarette, that will bring awareness to how many you are having, and if you put the time down, you can get a feeling of when you smoke the most.
Good Luck!

Try sucking on sugar-free candies or cinnamon sticks. Cinnamon sticks helped me to stop. It wasn't the only thing that helped, but it's a start. Nicotine is a stimulant, so you need stay away from anything else that has any kind of stimulant as an ingredient. So no coffee. Drink loads of water. It's good for your body anyway. Brush your teeth when you feel the urge and walk, walk, walk. Plenty of fresh air will help.
How are you cuttiing down? Take the cigs out of the pack and count the ones you plan on smoking for that day and put the rest away or plan on smoking one less each day. Those are the suggestions that were given to me and my friend after we stopped. You will feel so much better once you completely stop, but this is a good start.

I chew on anything that I can. If I'm at the bar I grab one of those small cocktail straws. Growing up on a farm, it is like chewing a piece of hay (straw, actually) that you see.
Try doing activities that take your mind off smoking.
Whenever you want to smoke chew gum or something. Drink a coffee...

Why not try gum, candy or seeds? My aunt bought a special kind of gum (for smokers) at Rite Aid which made the cigar taste funny to her and she would end up turning it off. You should try asking at a drug store about that kind of gum. My aunt said it's not expensive.

Sugar free gum. I usually like to chew on a piece of jerky if I'm at home, but if you are at work, definitely hard candy or gum.

Hard candy. one after another. And get stimulents in other forms, to make up for the lack of nictine. Like black coffee, or mountain dew (if you are in the u.s.), which have the close cousine to nocotine which is caffein, you can stop the latter in a few weeks time. Please remember that just one cigarette after you quit and you'll become hooked again. Please don't fool yourself that just one will be o.k.
Good Luck.

Take a single clove and hold it in your teeth (don't swallow of course). It will naturally cause your lips and tounge to tingle and take away your desire for a cigarette. Proud of you! Good luck!

the most common would be candy or gum. some smokers who quit have a tendency to add weight because their intake of food is more often. maybe as a replacement for nicotine.
