I thought The Shining was pretty terrifying.

I just finished 'salem's Lot and it wasn't very scary. To me, I think either It or Needful Things was the scariest. Most likely It, with its killer clown and giant spiders. Of course, that clown made its way around into a few of the other books as well. Tommyknockers was also scary - the movie version toned it down and gave it a happy ending.
Excuse me while I edit this... I just remembered the all-time scariest - Pet Sematary. When I read it, I had a dream that a little blonde haired boy was standing at the foot of my bed holding a scalpel. Terrified me!

I have never been able to get into reading the books, but the movies made from those books are some of the best. IT is by far the scariest King book to movie. Pennywise still gives me nightmares. Carrie was pretty darn freaky too.

I think that Pet Semetary is his scariest book to date, I remember staying up really late one night to finish it and having to have the light on in order to get to sleep. I am an adult! Just the thought of the father going and doing what he did in the cemetary to get his son just gives me the willies!

The scariest of his that I've read was It. The Eyes Of The Dragon was my favorite though.

for me it was Salem's Lot. I read it when I was about 13 yrs old, and couldn't stop watching my windows for a month or more! I kept thinking a vampire would appear! I about peed my pants but kept turning the pages anyway!
