If the phone is Tri-Band (lacking 850 MHz) you will have limited or no service on Cingular's network, who mainly utilizes the 850 MHz band. Sorry to tell ya....You have to get either a quad-band (850, 900, 1800, 1900) or Dual-band (850-1900)
Tri-bands do not work well with Cingular's network. (nor does any phone for that matter, but especially tri-bands)
