smoking will only have an effect if the said fetus is smoking more than a pack or so a day. As for snowboarding, that is dangerous no matter how old you are or anything else. Tell the fetus to limit the smoking, and lay off the booze too, and there shouldn't be too many ill effects

Smoking can affect a fetus anytime in pregnancy... my daughter is two and I didn't know I was pregnant with her until I was 18 weeks along and I smoked a pack a day the first 5 months, she now has a lot of respiratory infections and allergies.... she is sick all the time. Also doctors say that strenuous physical activity like snow boarding should be avoided during pregnancy especially one where you jump or get bounced around a lot.

Yes! Smoking affects the fetus at all stages of life. When a baby's mother smokes while it is being formed, the fetus' growth could be halted, it could be born with multiple health problems, and more. Don't smoke while pregnant!
Snowboarding should be fine at lower speeds. Doctors don't reccommend, it though, so you may want to ask your doctor first.

Hi,
Smoking at any time during pregnancy no matter the trimester is very bad. Your babys vital organs are being developed along with his/her immune system. I have read some studys that it affects their brain growth.
On the snowboarding...i think you should sit this season out...i know not fun but if you were to fall, hit a tree, lol, or have any sort of wreck you could risk a miscarry. but you are doin something way more important you got one in the oven!

Cigarettes could always affect a baby. A Dr. will tell you that its better to smoke vary little then it is to quit and stress out you and the baby. Snowboarding should be ok. Try not falling on your tummy to much. But if your a decent rider you shouldn't have to worry about it. If your just learning, you will fall a lot so i would Waite to learn.

My friend smoked during her pregnancy (she was 24) and the doctor told her it would put too much stress on the baby to quit so to reduce the amount that she smoked. Her baby turned out just fine, she was almost 8 pounds. My mother in law smoked with all 3 of her pregnancies, my husband was her smallest baby at almost 8 pounds, the oldest was around 9 and the second was around 8 1/2. As for punishment, she's going to have almost no sleep for about the first month, that should suffice.

DO NOT SMOKE. Smoking cigarettes when pregnant is quite irresponsible. It is not good for your health or the baby's or anyone else around you. Too many people are dying from lung cancer due to smoke. As for snowboarding, I think you like to live life on the edge. You can have fun while pregnant, just use caution. You want your baby healthy, right?

You should quit smoking immediately!! Especially if you are pregnant! It will affect the baby in a negative way no matter what tri-mester it is. Snowboarding is probably NOT a wise idea either when pregnant! No extreme sports are probably a good idea while pregnant. If you do these things, you should have thought about that before you got pregnant! Babies change our lives in a major way.
Good luck!

yes, smoking in any trimester is a potential serious problem..it can lead to birth defects and the baby will be addicted to nicotine..
I do not suggest snowboarding, it is a very physical sport..any injury could harm the fetus and possibly cause a miscarriage..
be smart since you are already obviously pregnant...

The answer to your smoking question is probably not safe. The smoke goes into your body, and if any gets remotely close to the fetus, birth defects could develop. Also, only go snowboarding on moderate slopes if you are really experienced
